We Are All Depending On You

I had a great teacher. His name is Chris Hogan and he taught me a great lesson when I was training to become a financial coach and I want to share it with you.

Imagine your life is a bus and you are obviously the bus driver. Now everyone knows a bus has a route it follows right? Along that route there are passengers to pick up and your route is the only route that is going to get them to their destination.

Now if your bus breaks down, run out of gas, or the weather is bad guess what? Those people aren’t going to get to where they need to go are they? They are depending on you to pick them up and help them.

Your life is no different. You have a purpose. Let me tell you something you weren’t put on this earth to go to work, pay bills, and then die. No, no, no!

You have something you can do better than anyone else and that something is going to help other people reach their purpose. They are depending on your bus to come and pick them up to help them get to where they need to go.

Purpose can be scary. Purpose can drive you to do things that are uncomfortable. Actually, when you do find your purpose you will find that you will be living outside of your comfort zone more often than not.

There are things I am doing as a financial coach that scare me every day. Things honestly that I thought I would never do or even consider doing.

But, I am doing them.

Do you know why?

My purpose is to help people and in order to serve that purpose I need to set aside my own fears and my own life at times in order to serve people.

If I let my fears and my own selfishness take over, my bus doesn’t run its normal route and the people that depend on me for help will never be picked up.

Chris said it best, “Don’t be comfortable, choose to be effective.”

Thankfully I have found my route now. I have never felt more alive.

I wouldn’t be here without the help of others that also found their route. They picked me up and helped me along the way to where I am today and I am forever grateful for those people. We all depend on each other.

So I leave you with this today. Are you on your route? Are you picking up people on your bus today and helping them reach their purpose in life?

If so, congratulations! Keep up the great work!

If not, that’s alright! I only encourage you to keep moving forward. Why?

There are people at your bus stop waiting to be picked up. If you don’t ever show up they may never reach their destination in life.

We are all depending on you!
